Biarritz, on France's southern Atlantic Basque coast, has been a favourite destination for sun seekers for centuries. In the 1800s especially it was frequented by European royalty, especially Napoleon III and Empress Eugenie. This print takes in the old harbour and, above it, the Sainte-Eugenie church.
